Research

If the statistics are boring, then you’ve got the wrong numbers.
— Edward Tufte

Over the past two decades, I have led the design and development of countless research studies, including:

  • User and stakeholder interviews, both one-on-one and in small group settings

  • Moderated and unmoderated usability tests, both for websites and complex browser-based software interfaces

  • Workshops and focus groups for project discovery and ideation

  • Online surveys

  • Card sorts and tree tests to inform and support information architectures and the development of controlled vocabularies

I am also highly skilled in quantitative research methodologies and tools such as:

  • Web and application analytics (Google, Crazy Egg, Adobe, and others)

  • Market research and demographic analysis

  • Survey instrument design and analysis

  • Dashboard development in Tableau, Google Data Studio and others
